Cyrodiil Performance & Population Cap Adjustments

Original

Hi everyone,

We are aware that there are performance issues in Cyrodiil with particular campaigns at certain hours. During our investigations into the problem, we have discovered a decrease in performance if the population of a campaign passes a certain threshold. In order to address this, we are going to decrease the campaign population cap below that threshold. This is unlikely to have any negative effects for the majority of PvP players, although you may encounter a queue if you log in during prime time hours, particularly with the North American and European Thornblade campaigns. While we believe this change will improve the overall performance in Cyrodiil, we will still continue to work on other optimizations.

This change will happen within the next hour, and won’t require a server maintenance or a client restart. We’ll let you know as soon as it’s complete.

Thank you for your continued patience and support!
